This year Literacy Volunteers of Oswego County (LVOC) will feature many unique items in raffles and auctions during the 4th Annual Diane Falise Memorial Scrabble Fest to be held on Friday, April 23, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., at the Oswego Elk’s Lodge, 132 W. Fifth St., Oswego. Participants will enjoy Scrabble, raffles, auctions, door prizes, delicious hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar and lots of fun!

This year’s raffles are sure to excite everyone. “The Perfect Evening” raffle includes an overnight stay at Pleasant Beach Inn in Fair Haven. To round out the perfect evening, the winner will also receive a gift certificate for dinner sponsored by Step One Creative, a bottle of Asti Spumanti, and a box of Stone’s chocolates. There will also be a Quilt Raffle for a lovely quilt designed and donated by Oswego resident Margaret Mulcahey. A 50/50 raffle and a DVD player raffle round out this year’s Scrabble Fest raffles.

One of the live auction items at this year’s event is a Dinosaur BBQ catered party for 20 people. Valued at $200, this item would be a great prize for any BBQ lover. Another great auction item will be a dinner party for 8 prepared at your home by Chef Shawna Gallton from Kristi’s Restaurant & Bar. Completing the live auctions will be a meat smoker BBQ package.

“There is nothing more exciting than Scrabble Fest.” said LVOC Executive Director Jane Murphy. “The raffles and auctions will put this year’s Scrabble Fest over the top!”

Participants for Scrabble Fest register a team of four and compete against fellow teams in four rounds of Scrabble. Registration must be made in advance so please contact LVOC as soon as possible.

Everyone need not compete at this event. For a ten-dollar donation participants can enjoy the food, watching the games, and participating in the silent and live auctions and raffles.

For more information about the event, to register a team, or become a sponsor phone 342-8839 or visit www.lvoswego.org.
