Scriba Crash Claim Life


SCRIBA – On Saturday at approximately 9:45pm the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on County Route 176 in the town of Scriba.

Initial investigation reveals that a 2012 Chevrolet pickup truck being operated by Jordan Davies, 21, was northbound on 76 at which time the vehicle left the east side of the roadway striking a utility pole and several trees.

The vehicle then continued and became airborne after which it then struck an unoccupied building and came to rest.

Davies was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.

Initial investigation indicates that excessive speed was a factor.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the town of Scriba Volunteer Fire Department, town of Volney Volunteer Fire Department, New York State Police and Menter Ambulance.
