The Scriba Volunteer Fire Department is joining the town of Scriba in celebrating the township’s bicentennial with events on the evening of June 15 and 17.
On June 15, the fire department will be having a chicken barbecue and barn dance.
The barbecue will start at 4:30 p.m. at the Scriba fire station located at 5618 State Route 104, just east of the city of Oswego.
The barn dance, the first one held in the town in more than 30 years will start at 7 p.m. with instruction and dance from 8 to 10 p.m. in the hall.
The cost of the barbecue is $8 for the dinner, take-outs will be available.
The dance is free to the public. Refreshments will be available all evening.
On June 17, the fire department is sponsoring a car show and open house at the fire station.
Registration for the car show starts at 11 a.m. with the show running from 1 to 5 p.m.
Awards will be given to the participants.
There is no charge to register.
Open house will run from 1 to 5 p.m., also.
These events are both free and open to the public.
Again, refreshments will be available throughout the day.
