OSWEGO, NY – Oswego Speedway announced Friday that racing coverage from the ‘Home of the Supermodifieds’ will be featured nationally on MAV-TV’s ‘Speed Sport Magazine’ and ‘Speed Sport’ programming beginning this month.
Each one-hour episode of Speed Sport Magazine and Speed Sport will alternate bi-weekly on Thursdays beginning May 22 and serve to kick off MAV-TV’s weekend motorsports programming with unprecedented focus and perspective on traditional American racing.
Featuring in-depth reporting, features and editorial, the new program will largely parallel the brand’s flagship monthly magazine.
Hosted by National Speed Sport News co-owner and veteran broadcast journalist Ralph Sheheen, Speed Sport Magazinewill provide motorsports fans with an American Real look at racing every other week.
The second hour of programming will feature Speed Sport, which will showcase traditional forms of racing from across the country.
Speed Sport will seek out the very best American Real motorsports action from midgets and off-road trucks, to motorcycles and of course supermodifieds.
Oswego Speedway’s Novelis Supermodifieds will be featured bi-weekly on Speed Sport Magazine in highlight form, but will also be the showcase division on two episodes of Speed Sport.
The Jim Shampine Memorial 75 and Budweiser International Classic 200 will air nationally in tape delay form on MAV-TV’s Speed Sport with in-depth coverage from veteran motorsports broadcaster Ralph Sheheen and pit reporter Derek Pernesiglio.
Each featured program will be one hour in length with the Shampine Memorial airing on July 3 and the Budweiser International Classic airing on September 25, nationally.
Production of both programs will be over seen by Emmy award-winning television veteran Jim Roller.
With a 31-year career in broadcasting, Roller has produced and directed programs for three major networks (ABC, NBC, and CBS) as well as every major cable entity in the United States (ESPN, TNN, USA, TBS Superstation, FOX Sports and SPEED). He completed a 12-year stint as senior producer for the American Le Mans Series.
“National Speed Sport News is the most trusted name in American motorsports journalism and our partnership with MAV-TV allows us to put NSSN and American grassroots racing in millions of households every week,” said Ralph Sheheen. “These programs will be a positive step for race fans thirsting for more motorsports coverage.”
Oswego Speedway Public Relations Director Dan Kapuscinski has helped to facilitate this process, and with the assistance of Thomas Video Productions, Oswego Speedway is proud to be a part of NSSN and MAV-TV’s work to grow grassroots American racing.
“Oswego Speedway is honored to partner with Speed Sport and MAV-TV to bring Supermodified racing and the ‘Steel Palace’ to millions of homes across the country,” said Kapuscinski. “Memorial Day Weekend’s Jim Shampine Memorial and the Budweiser International Classic 200 on Labor Day Weekend will serve as tremendous examples of the magnificent and wildly unique weekly program we run here in Oswego every Saturday night. We are very excited to showcase our state of the art Supermodified division at its best, a division you can see no place else on the planet in our form.”
MAV-TV is available through several providers including Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Verizon, Charter, Dish, and DirecTV.
MAV-TV features all things in American Real Motorsports including ASCS Sprint Car Racing, ATV Pro MX, and now The Dave Despain Show.
