OSWEGO — Dr. Brian Johnson, professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences and an addiction specialist at SUNY Upstate Medical University, will discuss heroin and opiate addictions in a 10 a.m. talk April 24, in SUNY Oswego’s Sheldon Hall ballroom.
Johnson will present the latest research on opiate addiction and recovery.
He will address why some people find addictive drugs so appealing, how these drugs can become more addictive with use and why recovery can be so difficult.
There is no cost to attend, and the event is open to the public. Seating is limited to 100 people.
Parking on campus requires a $1 permit for those who do not have a current SUNY Oswego parking sticker.
Visitors to this event will be able to use employee parking in the lots adjacent to and across Washington Boulevard from Sheldon Hall.
