Buc Varsity Lacrosse Team Beats RFA

The Oswego High School varsity lacrosse team scored a 19-6 win over Rome Free Academy as the Bucs won their eighth game of the season.

The Bucs raced out to a 3-1 lead, but each team scored four in the second as the Bucs went to intermission with a 7-5 advantage. Oswego then exploded for a dozen goals and gave up just one in the second half.

Brett McClelland (photo) scored five goals while Eric Cooper and Brian Witmer scored four apiece. Steve McManus and Steve Czarnecki each had two goals while Jayson Brown and Matt Howard had the remaining scores.

Czarnecki chalked up four assists while McClelland had three while Witmer, McManus and Brown each had two.

In net Brian Buske had two saves and Thompson has three saves in the final quarter as the Bucs went to 4-8 in league play and 8-9 overall.
