MEN’S B – SLOW
GARY’S 5 ALLIANCE 4
Gary’s opened the 2008 season with an 5 to 4 victory over Alliance. Gary’s took a 4 run lead in the 4th, only to see Alliance come back to tie the game at 4 in the 6th. Gary’s pushed across the winning run in the home half of the seventh, and was lead in the game offensively by BJ McAnulty who doubled and Josh Flett who tripled. Lewis Caster had three hits for Alliance, while John Fine doubled.
SCRIBA TOWN INN 6 CHEAP SEATS 5
Also in B-slow pitch action Scriba Town Inn opened the season with a 6 to 5 win over Cheap Seats. Leading Scriba Town Inn with multiple hits were Sean Fetterly, Brandon Lagoe, Tim Hammond, Kevin Luhr, John Fitzgerald and Randy Rourke. Included in their multiple hits were doubles by Fetterly, Luhr and Rourke. Tim Kirwan had three hits and a triple for Cheap Seats, while Mike Lavner had two hits.
MEN’S C – SLOW
CATHY’S WINGS 11 THIRSTY’S 10
John Bond allowed 16 hits while leading Cathy’s Wings to a 11 to 10 win over Thirsty’s. Roger Barnes had two doubles in Cathy’s Wings win while Keith Hurlbut singled and doubled. Ed Heely had two hits. Nick DePolo, Ed Kuzawski, A.J. Kings and Dave Nalle had multiple hits for Thirsty’s with One of Kings hits a triple, and Nalle’s a double.
CHEAP SEATS 13 CSC PROPERTY MANAGEMENT 12 ( 8 innings )
After scoring 6 times in the first inning, Cheap Seats had to fight off many comeback attempts by CSC Property Management to register a 13 to 12 eight inning victory. After being tied at 10 after 7, Cheap Seats scored three times in the top of the eights, and then held off CSC in another attempt that fell one run short. Bruce Shafer and Phil Kelly had a single and double for Cheap Seats while Will Dumont had two single and a double. Tom Muroski had three hits to lead CSC while picking up two hits each was Justin Buskie, Jarod Finch, Rich Haynes and Mark Wiggins.

MEN’S D – SLOW
LAGRAFF’S PUB 8 FRONT DOOR 6
LaGraff’s scored six times in the top of the seventh to complete a come from behind 8 to 6 win over The Front Door. Front Door who led the entire game seemed to put it out of the reach as they scored three runs on Matt Bacons home run to take a 6 to 2 lead. LaGraff’s led off the seventh with a hit and then scored 6 runs on a combination of solid hits and some costly Front Door miscues. Besides Bacon’s home run, Front Door was led by John Ferry who doubled, while Bruce Maynes and Pat Chalone added two hits each. LaGraff’s was lead by Chris Pooler and A.J. Thurlow with two hits each.
CHEAP SEATS 17 NINE MILE 5
Scoring 14 runs in their first four innings against Nine Mile, Cheap Seats cruised to an east 17 to 5 win over Nine Mile in Men’s D-slow pitch action. Nine Mile scored their only runs of the game as they scored 5 times in the fourth. Cheap Seats added 3 more in the sixth to end the game by the run rule.
MENS C – FAST
GRACE O’MALLEY’S 8 RVP INTERNATIONAL 0
Grace O’Malley’s opened the 2008 C-Fast pitch season by blanking RVP International 8 to 0. Grace O’Malley scored the winning run in the first as John Bryant tripled driving home John Crawford who doubled. Crawford added another double in the game. Also leading Grace O’Malley’s was John Shatraw who singled and tripled, while ,J. King doubled. Mark Loomis added a hit. Winning pitcher Curt Ferris allowed only one hit in earning the victory. The highlight for RVP International was the return of Scott Canova who missed the entire 2007 season battling cancer. Everyone that know Scotty is very delighted with his return.
SOUTH FORTY 16 MCANULTY’S 9
After battling to a 7 all tie after 4 innings, South 40 scored once in the fifth and broke the game open with seven in the seventh to ear a 16 to 9 win over McAnulty’s . Supporting winning pitcher Bill Bosch offensively with a single, double and triple was Barry Alton, While Bear Redmond had a single, triple and two run homer. Leading McAnulty’s with two doubles and an inside the park home run was Gary Carpenter. Chris Cahill added two singles, while Jeremy Thompson had a single and triple.

MENS B – FAST
STING RAY 8 BUDWEISER 7
Scoring 4 times in the third and four in the sixth was barley enough as Sting Ray held off Budweiser 8 to 7 in B-Fast pitch action. Budweiser took the early lead in the first as 2 Sting Ray errors, and singles by Rick Goodman, Rob Corradino and Bob Little lead to four runs. In the third Sting Ray Scored their first four runs as Matt Buridge tripled, Jason Ceranno doubled, aided by singles from Fred Kent, Jim Bevaqua. In the 6th Sting Ray scored the winning four runs on hits.
CUTRO’S 3 OSWEGO QUALITY CARPETS 1
Striking out 17 and allowing only 2 hits Shawn Samson pitched Cutro’s to an opening day win over Oswego Quality Carpet 3 to 1. leading Cutro’s offensively with singles were Cutro, and Shawn Damocola, while Mike Donovan had a double. Picking up the two hits for Oswego Quality Carpet was Ron Cahill and Greg Casbear

SOUTH FORTY 11 LIGHT HOUSE LANES 1 (SC)
In a game ended by the run rule South 40 defeated Light House Lanes (SC) 11 to 1. accounting for 9 of South 40’s 14 hits were Will Dumont who had two singles and a triple, while Ron Cahill, Jeremy Cahill and George Young had two hits each. For Light House Lanes Mitch Tombs collected a triple off of winning pitcher Bill Bosch.
CAMPUS HEIGHTS 14 LIGHT HOUSE LANES (BR) 4
Campus Heights scored all their runs in the first three innings to win over Light House Lanes (BR) by a score of 14 to 4. In this game called by the run rule Light House lanes scored one run in the first and three in the second.
MENS E-SLOW
PRESS BOX 13 LIGHT HOUSE LANES 9
After taking a early 9 run lead, Press Box had to hold off the comeback attempt by Light House Lanes, to earn an 13 to 9 victory. Dan Cunningham and Dave Lloyd paced Press Box with three hits each. Among their hits Cunningham had two doubles, with Lloyd adding one. Light House Lanes was led by Dave Janes three singles, while Josh Dunsmoor and Brad Lyons each singled and doubled.
CAMS 15 OSWEGO ALLIANCE 3
Cams won this season opening game over Oswego Alliance by a score of 15 to 3. leading Cam’s with a single and triple was Del Guile with a single and triple, while Joe Harpst singled twice and doubled. Chiris Izyk added two singles. For Oswego Alliance, Carl LaGray had a double, while Joe Yardley had two singles, and Paul Oleyourryk had three. Nick Klebs was the winning pitcher.

OCA 28 CHEAP SEATS 1
Behind a 18 hits attack, OCA blasted Cheap Seats 28 to 1. in a game ended by the run rule, OCA was led by Adam Metcalf, John Finch, Greg Distin and Mike Johnson who collected three hits each. One of finch’s hit was a double, while two of Distins were doubles. Mike Bivens had a double for Cheap Seats one of three hits allowed by wining pitcher Aaron Fri Hon.
