OSWEGO MEN’S SOFTBALL RESULTS

MONDAY JUNE 9th , 2008

MEN’S B – SLOW

SCRIBA TOWN INN 7 GARY’S 0

Bucky O’Grady pitch shutout ball as Scriba Town Inn blanked Gary’s 7 to 0. Leading the way with multiple hits were Shawn Fetterly, Bob Galletta and John Bugow. Kevin Luhr had a home run for Scriba Town Inn. Ron Cahill and Greg Lavery had two hits each for Gary’s.

CHEAP SEATS 15 ALLIANCE 5

Tied at 3 after two, Cheap Seats outscored Alliance 12 to 2 the rest of the way to claim a 15 to 5 victory. For Cheap Seats Tim Kirwan broke the game open with a grand slam home run in the third. He later added another home run, and two hits, while Mike Lavner had two hits and a triple. Kevin Noel had a single and triple for Alliance, while Lewis Castor, Jaime Patochnac, Bob Kelly and Denny Shortslef had two hits each. Dave Canfield was the winning pitcher.

MEN’S C – SLOW

CATHY’S WINGS 16 CAC PROPERTY MANAGEMENT 12

In a game that saw 28 total runs and 34 total hits, Cathy’s Wings prevailed over CAC Property Management. For Cathy’s Wings Craig Benne and Terry Searles had two hits and a double. Roger Barnes, and Kevin Hurlbut added two hits each. CAC Property Management was paced by Carl Ross with a single, double and home run. Mark Wiggins and Pete Galletta each doubled, while Jarod finch had two hits.

CHEAP SEATS 8 THIRSTY’S 4

Will Dumont’s three run homer highlighted cheap Seats 8 to 4 win over Thirsty’s. Jim Higgins helped his own cause with a single and triple, while Bruce Schaefer and Kurt Pomerenki had two hits each. For Thirstys. Tom Rivers, Dave Nalle and A.J. Kings had two hits each while Nick Depolo added a double.

WHEAT’S EXCAVATION 5 OSWEGO QUALITY CARPETS 4 (8 INNINGS)

Jim Bevaqua allowed only 10 hits as Wheat’s Excavation edged Oswego Quality Carpets in 8 innings by a score of 5 to 4. Tied at the end of seven, Wheat’s pushed across the winning run in the top of the 8th, and then shut down Oswego Quality Carpets in their half of the innings. Bevaqua who struck out ten helped his own cause with a double. Fred Kent had a single and triple for Wheat’s while John Finch had a double. Jay Cernaro added two hits. For Oswego Quality Carpets, Greg Lavery had two singles, a triple and a home run, while Dylan Vaughn had a double. Greg Casbeer and Jeremy Cahill had two hits each.

CUTRO’S PROFESSIONAL INSPECTIONS 8 BUDWEISER 0

Shawn Sampson fired a no hitter as Cutro’s Professional Inspections blanked Budweiser 8 to 0. In picking up the win Sampson struck out 13 batters while walking only one in the fifth innings. Mike Donovan and A.J. Thurlow each tripled for Cutro’s, while Andrew Lazzaro doubled. Picking up base hits for Cutro’s was Mark Blanchard, Josh Crannell and Mark Lazzaro.

THRUSDAY JUNE 12th , 2008

MEN’S MODIFIED

SOUTH FORTY 13 LIGHT HOUSE LANES (SC) 7

Bill Bosch out dueled Scotty Canova as South 40 earned a 13 to 7 win over Light House Lanes (SC). Cousins Josh Flett, Ron Cahill and Jeremy Cahill accounted for 10 of the 17 hits collected by South 40. Flett had three singles and a double, while Ron Cahill had two hits and a triple. Jeremy Cahill had three hits. Steve Young had two singles. Accounting for the 9 hits allowed by Bosch was a single and two doubles to Scott Samson. Shaun Damacola had a single and double as did Terry Thompson. Rob Finn had two hits.

OCA 26 CHEAP SEATS 0

In a game ended after 3 and a half innings by the mercy rule, OCA defeated Cheap Seats 26 to 0. OCA put the game away with 13 runs in the first. They added 4 more in the second and nine more in the third. Scott Lenoard picked up the win allowing only one hit.

MEN’S E – SLOW

CAM’S 17 PRESS BOX 10

Trailing by one at the end of six, Cams scored 9 runs over the last two innings to defeat The Press Box 17 to 10. Leading the way with multiple hits game for Cam’s was Fran Secor, Vic Licatese, Chris Izyk, and Jeremy Linn. Of their hits, Secor, Izyk and Linn each had a triple. Dan Cunningham had two singles and a double for The Press Box, while Jeff Mc Crobie had a single and a double. Doug Campbell added two singles.

LIGHT HOUSE LANES 14 OSWEGO ALLIANCE 11

After taking a 8 run lead after 3 and a half innings, Light House Lanes had to hold off rally’s by Oswego Alliance to claim and 14 to 11 win. Paul Rheinwald led Light House Lanes with a single, double, and triple. Also accounting for multiple hits were Jim Baldwin, Jim Haynes, Bill Hibbert and Jim Baldwin. For Oswego Alliance Dan Krause had two singles. Also Joe Yardley had a double, while Kevin Drake had a single and double.

FRIDAY JUNE 13TH , 2008

MEN’S MODIFIED

CAMPUS HEIGHTS 14 LIGHT HOUSE LANES (BR) 13 (9 innings)

After Light House Lanes (BR) rallied to tied the game at 9 after 7 innings of play, Campus Heights needed two more innings to claim a 14 to 13 victory. Both teams scored twice in the eights, and after Light House Lanes took a two run lead in the top of the ninth, Campus Heights scored three of their own in the bottom half of the inning to claim the win. For Campus Heights, Nick Pelky had a two run homer. He also had two hits, as did Brooks Besures and winning pitcher Troy Kocher. Offensively for Light House Lanes, Chad Raymond had a double, triple, and home run. Mike Earl also had a solo home run, while B.J. Mc Anulty had three doubles. Louis Shatraw added a single and double.
