17th Annual Oswego County Pro-Am Tournament Announces ‘No-Com Calcutta’

OSWEGO, NY – Pathfinder Bank and Fat Nancy’s tackle shops announced the 2011 “No-Com Calcutta,” a unique competition open to all professional division teams entered in the 17th annual Oswego County Pro-Am Salmon and Trout Team Tournament.

The new contest will have a guaranteed payout of $7,500 for a field of 10 boats.  Entry fee for the event is $250.  All participants in this special contest must agree to observe closed communication status during the regular tournament hours.  Only emergency communications will be allowed during the competition.

Winners will be determined by the final results of the professional division field, with prizes going to 25 percent of the Calcutta field.

Registration will be at the tournament site behind the EconoLodge Riverfront Hotel, 71 E. First St., on July 8.  The entry deadline for the regular Pro-Am tournament has been extended until 5 p.m. June 27, to allow competitive anglers an opportunity to enter the tournament and be eligible for the new event.

Fat Nancy’s has also announced that they will host the fourth annual Pre-Fish Friday Shootout on July 8.

The deadline to register is 6 a.m. July 8.  Teams do not need to be entered in the Oswego County Pro-Am to fish the Friday “Shoot-out.” Observers are not needed and there are no age limits for this event. Weigh-ins will take place beginning at noon July 8 at the Pro-Am tournament headquarters behind the EconoLodge.

The awards ceremony will follow the Pro Am captains’ meeting Friday evening.

The Oswego County Pro-Am Salmon and Trout Team Tournament is the third in a series of lakewide events held each summer in Niagara, Orleans, Oswego and Wayne counties.

Together, the tournaments attract hundreds of the best professional and amateur anglers from throughout the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes states.
