2 updates this week from OHS Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse

Vs. Syracuse
We came out flat as we went to Nottingham High School. The first half we did not take care of the ball and our shot placement for the first half was not on point.

Syracuse controlled the draws and we could not find a rhythm in the first half.

At halftime we reorganized ourselves and came out a lot stronger and took care of the ball and shooting much better than the first half.

In the end our comeback attempt fell short but not without trying hard.

We took 31 shots to their 19 and it was a good learning lesson for us as a group to bring back to practice and focus on finishing and following through with our cuts and shots.

We will be more prepared Thursday when Cortland comes to the OHS.

Vs. Cortland
Before the first whistle we talked about coming out quick and hard and shooting with a purpose and we stormed out quickly against Cortland.

There was a lot of back and forth offense by both teams.

Cortland closed the gap and was trying to get back into the game.

We knew we needed to get the momentum back and we got a couple of quick goals in the middle of the 2nd half and used it to stay out in front of them.

One of the nice things with the game today was having multiple girls score and get some assists – when you have a lot of different girls contributing only good things can come of it.

We have a tough 3 games next week and need to use this week as a learning lesson as we continue to grow and push ahead.

We see Fulton at home Tuesday, head to ESM Thursday and then host Rush Henrietta from neighboring Rochester region in a non-league matchup.

We have our work cut out for us next week and I think we are up for the challenge.
