Autographs and Great Action Highlight Family Fun This Saturday at Fulton

By Dave Medler

This Saturday Night July 19 bring your family out to the Fulton Speedway not only for a great night of racing but for the popular Family Autograph Night. It’s your chance to see your favorite drivers and cars up close and personal. “This event was scheduled earlier in the season but was rained out,”said promoter Art Halliday. “It’s one way we can give back to the fans to meet their favorites and get up close to the cars.” Saturday will also be Military Appreciation Night, anyone in our Armed Forces showing ID will receive Half-Off the grandstand admission price.

The schedule this Saturday night includes DIRTcar Modifieds, DIRTcar Crate Sportsman Modifieds, UMP Street Stocks, E&V Energy Rookie Crate Sportsman Modifieds and Four Cylinder Enduros.

Tom Sears Jr. will be looking to get one step closer to a Track Championship in the Modified division. Even though Sears is winless on the year his consistent top finishes has him at the head of the pack and always knocking on the door for that first win. The always smooth driving Alan Johnson has two wins and only trails Sears by seven markers. Jimmy Phelps coming off strong runs in Canada on the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRT Series finds himself only ten points behind. Ryan Phelps and last weeks Feature Winner Jim Witko are still in the hunt.

In the DIRTcar Crate Sportsman Modifieds Jeremy Pitcher leads the way. Like Sears in the Modifieds Pitcher is knocking on the door for his first win of 2008. Most feel it’s only a matter of time before he parks in the winners circle. Jordan Bennett, Tom Juhl, John Pietrowicz and Tim Sears Jr are a weekly threat for a win.
How many wins can Dave Mannise put in the win column this season? To date he has won seven of the eight Features run. Ron Hawker, Jim Wallace, Quentin Burton, Steve Woodworth and Nick Rizzo look to slowdown the high flying Mannise.

Last Saturday night Katelyn Kane took over the point lead in the wide-open E&V Energy Rookie Crate Sportsman Modified Division. Claude Hutchings Jr., Scott Fowler, John Wilbur and Mark Olmstead Jr and others will be looking to add their name to the winners list.

Jon Shumway has the point lead in the Four Cylinder Enduros and will be trying to add another win behind the wheel of his No.11x.
