Boys Golf Off To Good Start

Submitted article

The Oswego Boys Golf Team won their second straight away match on Thursday, beating Utica Proctor at Valley View Golf Course in Utica by a final of 219-222. The team struggled a bit on Valley View’s difficult, undulating greens, but in the end, the boys hung on and nabbed their second win of the season.

Corey Schuffenecker was again the low man for Oswego, carding a very respectable round of 40 on the front nine at Valley View. Corey has quickly established himself as a team leader, a player who works hard in practice and encourages the younger, more inexperienced players. Scott Quenville also played respectably against Utica, shooting a solid score of 43. Matt “Petey” Lloyd and Alex Bush finished with contributing scores of 45, and Sam Lalonde rounded out the top five with a nine hole total of 46.

The Bucs get a bit of a break to start September. The team’s next match is not until Friday, September 5th. The match is on the road against a tough West Genesee team. missing or outdated ad config
