Bulldogs Bite Bucs

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego girls’ track team lost to the host Lady Bulldogs of Nottingham Wednesday by the score of 81-44, in a CNYCL American Division contest.

Junior standout Whitney Ford was a triple winner for the Lady Bucs.

She placed first in the 100 meter dash (13.4), triple jump (32′ 10 1/2″) and the 200 meter dash with an outstanding time of 27.6.

She also placed second in the long jump (14′ 6″), three quarters of an inch behind the winner.

Junior Alyssa Suits, shattered her previous best in the discus to place first with a fine toss of 67′ 1″.

Freshmen Tara Stacy finished first in the 1500 meter run for Oswego (6:38.5) with the 3200 meter relay of Nikole Bonacorsi, Courtney Gazda, Paige Gray and Kaela Shafer also placing first.

Shafer threw a personal best in the discus, to earn second place.

Bonacorsi placed second in the 800 meter run.

Placing third for the Lady Bucs were Suits and Deondra Smith, with bests in the shot put and high jump, and Karlie Fredette in the 400 meter run.

Other strong personal best efforts were turned in by rapidly improving Colleen Fraser in 100 and 200 meter dash and Katrina Tafler in the long jump.

Oswego will return to action on April 27, hosting the Lady Maroon of Auburn, in a 5 p.m. league contest at the Oswego Middle School. missing or outdated ad config
