Camden Proud Chicken BBQ Fundraiser Set April 8

OSWEGO, NY – After nearly three months in the works, the 2018 Proud Motorsports / Camden Proud Chicken BBQ Fundraiser is set to go April 8 at Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego.

Festivities will get under way at 1 p.m.

The fundraiser will include $10 chicken BBQ or pulled pork dinners which will go directly back into funds for the Step One Creative No. 54 Small Block Super which Proud drove to three second place finishes and a third place effort in the ‘Road to the Championship’ point standings for the Pathfinder Bank SBS division in 2017.

Proud Motorsports has also recently acquired the former Strong Racing No. 99 Supermodified, which the team hopes to have set to go for the 62nd running of the Budweiser International Classic 200 this September.

“This year’s fundraiser is more important than ever,” Proud said. “We’ve been lucky enough to sell a great number of pre-sale tickets so far and want to thank everyone for the continued support. I also want to thank the numerous businesses and individuals that take the time to reach out and donate items that we can raffle off as part of the fundraiser. It would not be successful without them. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday.”

Dozens of raffles and door prizes will be up for grabs as part of the event which is slated to conclude at time of sellout at Lighthouse Lanes, located on Jim Shampine drive adjacent to the Oswego Speedway.

Prizes set to be on hand include a cordless screwdriver and Impact Driver courtesy of Raby’s Ace Home Center, a $100 JP Jewelers gift certificate and Tree of Life Pendant, an authentic John Force 3/8ths air drive ratchet, GJP Italian Eatery of Oswego, Canale’s, Walmart, Oswego Cinema 7, and Dino’s House of Burgers gift cards, a portable propane forced air heater courtesy of Burke’s Do It Best Home Center, an auto detail kit courtesy of Paint Masters in Rochester, Dunkin’ Donuts Gift Baskets, speedway merchandise, photos and more.

Those who have purchased pre-sale tickets for the event are reminded to pick up their orders by no later than 2 p.m. on Sunday in order for remaining dinners to be sold in a timely fashion.

Dinners can be picked up within the Hall of Fame Lounge at Lighthouse Lanes.

Proud Motorsports opens the 2018 season with Tim Proud behind the wheel as part of the Lighthouse Lanes SBS Series 30-lap spring event at the Evans MIlls Speedway on May 12. Camden will then be in the driver’s seat for Oswego Speedway’s open practice session a week later on May 19 before attention shifts to the 68th annual opening day at the ‘Steel Palace,’ featuring the Tony White Memorial 35 for the Pathfinder Bank Small Block Supers on May 26.
