Cianfarano, Lloyd Pace Buc Lax Win

OSWEGO, NY – The temperature might have been less than 20 degrees, but it didn’t stop the Oswego varsity boys’ lacrosse team from heating up.

On March 25, the 2011 campaign commenced for the lax team as the Bucs hosted Iroquois under the lights and came away with a convincing 12-4 victory.

Coach Doc Nelson said, “There was lots of playing time as everyone played in the first half. There were numerous assisted goals and it was a good win for our freshman goalie.”

Nelson continued, “There are lots of new faces this year and I wasn’t sure how they would come out, but for the most part they did fine. We started well and didn’t have a relapse after halftime. We rode and cleared pretty well and scored man up goals. We generally improved over our last scrimmage.”

Oswego jumped out to a 4-2 lead after one and it was 6-3 by halftime.

However, the Bucs exploded for five unanswered goals in the third.

Dom Ciranfarano had five goals for the Bucs while Kyle Clark and Dan Maniccia had two each and Matt Lloyd, Cody Mariano and Jeremy Purce each scored one.

In the assist department, Lloyd had five, Josh Sova two and Cianfarano one.

Trey Love had 10 saves for the 1-0 Bucs who will host Auburn on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Joe Wilber Field. missing or outdated ad config
