City of Fulton Softball League results for Wednesday, August 6

6:00 F (W-B) Red Baron won 7-0 over Wildwood Construction.

7:00 F (W-B) Century 21 Leah’s Signature/Chubby’s tripped up Longley Dodge/Travis Floral, 14-2.  Longley Dodge/Travis Floral held Century 21 Leah’s Signature/Chubby’s to a run in the third before yielding four runs in the fourth while scoring twice in the bottom of the inning.  The rest of the scoring would be done by Century 21 Leah’s Signature/Chubby’s as the offense tallied nine unanswered runs.  Molly Baker blasted a pair of three-run home runs and doubled for Century 21 Leah’s Signature/Chubby’s, Beth Brownlee smashed a two-run triple, a two-run single and scored once while Linda Cole lined three singles, scored twice and drove in a run.  Missy Constanza and Jesse Mills each singled and scored for Longley Dodge/Travis Floral, Teresa Borden singled and drove home a run while Gloria Kempston, Amanda Howland, Brenda Wilson and Debbie Davis each singled twice.

6:00 D (W-B) Jackson Hewitt Tax Service needed a run in the seventh to edge B&T Sport Shop/Menter Ambulance, 5-4.  B&T Sport Shop/Menter Ambulance scored twice in the first inning with Jackson Hewitt Tax Service scoring once in the bottom of the inning.  A run in the third by B&T Sport Shop/Menter Ambulance increased the advantage until Jackson Hewitt Tax Service took the lead with three runs in the fourth.  B&T Sport Shop/Menter Ambulance tied the game in the seventh when Mo Kasperek doubled and scored on Liz Smith’s base hit.  A run in the bottom of the seventh gave Jackson Hewitt Tax Service the win after Jolene Stevens doubled and scored on Lisa Burdick’s grounder.  Melissa Townsend doubled home two runs, singled twice, walked and scored once for Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, Karen Samson stroked three singles and scored once as Lisa Burdick reached base three times and drove in two RBIs.  Mo Kasperek doubled, singled, walked, scored once and drove in a run for B&T Sport Shop/Menter Ambulance, Jen Dempsey rapped three singles and scored once as Michelle Kitts singled twice and scored a run.

7:00 D (W-C) Lakeview Lanes clinched fourth place with a 14-3 win over Wally’s Towing.  With three teams tied for first place, the teams entered the night tied for the final play-off spot.  Lakeview Lanes tallied six runs within the first three innings, scored six runs in the six and added two more in the seventh while holding Wally’s Towing to a run in the first and two in the sixth.  Erika Barnes belted a home run, a double, two singles, scored twice and delivered three RBIs for Lakeview Lanes, Lisa Reed homered, singled thrice, scored twice and drove home three runs while Kelly Powers doubled twice, scored twice and knocked home two runs.  Vicki Smallidge tripled home two runs and singled for Wally’s Towing, Cindy Ferris doubled scored once and walked as Christine Couse singled twice.

8:00 D (W-C) Chase Enterprise/Heath Paving stayed tied for first place by defeating Northern Girls, 9-3.  While Chase Enterprise/Heath Paving remained tied for first place with Canalview Travel/Shuba 2 Construction/Tri-County Heating (after their win at 9:00), the loss dropped Northern Girls down to third place in the tight Women’s C Division.  Northern Girls scored twice in the first inning and held the advantage until Chase Enterprise/Heath Paving rallied for four runs in the fifth and five more in the sixth.  Paige LoCastro doubled thrice, scored once and delivered four RBIs for Chase Enterprise/Heath Paving, Gerry Briggs drilled a two-run triple, singled twice and scored twice as Terri Fowler swatted three singles, scored twice and knocked in a RBI.  Sandy Boettcher singled twice and scored for Northern Girls, Jess Bogardus singled twice and drive in a run while Gail Denniston singled and scored.

9:00 D (W-C) Canalview Travel/Shuba 2 Construction/Tri-County Heating dented Brett’s Auto/Tailgaters, 22-7.  Brett’s Auto/Tailgaters scored three in the first and three in the second to hold the lead until Canalview Travel/Shuba 2 Construction/Tri-County Heating pulled within a run in the third, tallied six runs in the fourth, five in the fifth and six more in the sixth.  Paula Distin smacked a triple, four singles, scored five runs and delivered three RBIs for Canalview Travel/Shuba 2 Construction/Tri-County Heating, Sandy Shue stroked a RBI double, four RBI singles and scored thrice as Kayla Huffman belted a three-run home run, singled twice and scored four runs.  Carrie Kinney swatted four base hits and drove home a pair of RBIs for Brett’s Auto/Tailgaters, Stacey Lachut singled twice and scored twice while Linda Allen singled twice, scored once and knocked in a run.
