Everyone Get Ready for the 4th of July at the D-Shaped DIRT Demon

Brewerton, NY – This Friday night July 4th Fireworks will be on the track and in the sky as the DIRTcar Sportsman Modified Super DIRT Series come to the “D-Shaped Dirt Demon.” Also racing in the holiday event will be the IMCA Modifieds, ESDCA Mod Lites and the Four Cylinder Super Stocks. The night will be capped off with a huge fireworks display.

At last year’s Sportsman Series event the winner was in doubt till the checkered flag. Mark D’llario and local favorite Jeremy Pitcher tangled late in the race setting up a first time winner, Alan Fink. Once in the lead Fink had to hold off Chris Hile and 2007 Sportsman Modified Tour Champion Joe Williams to pick up his first ever victory.

“Never having won a race before I didn’t expect my first win to be a series race,” said an excited Fink in victory lane. After the contact between the two leaders handed the lead over to Fink he related what was going through his mind over the final laps. “It was my race to win or lose. With a clear track ahead of me I just had to keep hitting my marks and not make a mistake.”

Expect a big field of Sportsman Modifieds to fill the Brewerton pits as the series will be making a stop the night before at the nearby Rolling Wheels Raceway. In the first two events on the trail car counts were, 56- Black Rock and 52-Rolling Wheels Raceway. Larry Wight won the first event before moving full time into the Big Block Modifieds with Dan Weisner grabbing his first ever Tour win at Rolling Wheels.

With Brewerton not racing Sportsman Modifieds on a weekly basis look for this race to be wide open with no driver having the home track advantage.

Can anyone slow down Dale Caswell in the IMCA Modieds? Caswell will be looking to put win number seven in the books this Friday night. The top two in the point standings, Rob Keller and Kevan Cook will be looking to end Caswell’s hot streak.

Lowell Zehr sits atop the point standings in the ESDCA Mod Lites and will be looking to pad his lead this Friday night. Chasing Zehr in the standings are Joe Garafolo, Rocco Leone, Tim Devendorf and Doug Williams who leads in feature wins with four victories.

Claude Hutchings, Jr. in his potent Saab will be trying to continue his domination in the Four Cylinder Super Stocks. Last Friday night Hutchings put win number six in the record books.
