It was a great battle on the soccer field as Oswego and Rome girls’ varsity squads battled to a 0-0 final.

Coach Brian Green said, “It was an exciting back and forth game with multiple scoring chances from both sides. Leah Folgherait played grat in goal making 18 saves and denying many quality chances. The back four defenders Sarah Skinner, maia Czarnecki, Brittany Howard and Krissy Knight all played strong and helped preserve the shutout.”

The Oswego offense generated scoring chances throughout the game with Nicole Paulhardt, Amber Earl, Amanda D’Amico and Alexis Files putting pressure on the Rome defense. A strong game was also turned in by the middies Nicole Lautensack, Sara Molinari and Kaitlyn Armstrong.

Oswego is now 0-1-1 in league and 1-5-1 overall. The Bucs will host FM on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. on the Turrill Street Field. missing or outdated ad config
