Henry Goes for Two In A Row on A&P Auto Parts Night At Brewerton Speedway

Brewerton, NY – Racing returns this Friday night July 25 at the “D-Shaped Dirt Demon” Brewerton Speedway for a full night of High Speed Excitement on A&P Auto Parts Night. Highlighting the night will be the Fan Favorite Family Autograph Night. It’s your chance to get down on the Speedway and see your favorite drivers and cars up close. Slated to go will be the DIRTcar Modifieds, IMCA Modifieds, ESDCA Mod Lites, Four Cylinder Super Stocks and Four Cylinder Enduro. Save your ticket stub from Friday July 18 as it will get you $2 off the general admission price.

Last week in the Modifieds after four years of trying, popular local racer Bob Henry, Jr. picked up his first ever Modified win. The Victory was anything but easy for Henry as he had to hold off DIRT’s all time feature winner and current Speedway point leader Alan Johnson.

Coming into this week’s action Alan Johnson sits atop the point standings. Billy Decker who has five wins to date trails Johnson by only 20-Points. Matt Sheppard, Kevin Bates and defending Track Champion Willy Decker rank in the top five.

Dale Caswell continued his current hot-streak last Friday in the IMCA Modifieds. Last week Caswell had a narrow, hard-earned win over Rich Keller for his ninth win of the season. Caswell will look to make it win ten in front of his sponsor A&P Auto Parts Friday. Rob Keller and Kevan Cook only trail Caswell by three and ten points.

Gary Jeffries finally got rid of the goose egg in the win column on July 18 by out-running point leader Lowell Zehr to grab his first ever ESDCA Mod Lite Victory. Trailing Zehr in the Championship hunt is six time winner Doug Williams with Tim Devendorf, Joe Garafolo and Rocco Leone still knocking on the door for wins.

Claude Hutchings, Jr. was finally stopped last Friday in the Four Cylinder Super Stocks. Matt Wetterer finally shook a season of bad breaks grabbing his first win of 2008. Hutchings still holds a commanding lead over Chuck Powelczyk, Matt Fay, Glen Erwin and Lorraine Powelczyk.
