OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego High School Lady Bucs varsity volleyball team will continue its season as the Class A Section III Champion has advanced to state regional action.

On Tuesday night the Bucs squared off against Fulton at the Jamesville-DeWitt High School gymnasium for the Class A crown.

Oswego swept the night with wins of 25-20, 25-16 and 25-12.

Coach Ron Ahart said, “We are excited to win the first Section III Volleyball Championship for Oswego since 1990. The girls played a well balanced and well rounded game. Cortnie Purce led the way with 16 kills and Alexa Healy had 38 assists.”

Continuing he noted, “We will now play Burnt Hills, the defending State Champion and Section II champ, this Saturday at two o’clock at Gloversville High School.”

Erica Atkins had seven kills and six digs for the Bucs while Courtney Lavere added 10 kills, an ace and dig. Sarah Stoebner finished with 11 digs.

Marguerite Dillon had seven kills and three blocks while Mikayla Allen added two digs. Reilly Patrick had two kills, two aces, three assists and two digs while Shantelle Myers had a dig for the Bucs.
