Lauren Romito Voted SUNYAC Women’s Basketball Scholar Athlete Of The Year

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The SUNYAC recognizes Geneseo’s Lauren Romito as the 2023 Women’s Basketball Scholar Athlete of the Year. This award is nominated and voted on by the conference sports information directors.

Romito was a first-team All-SUNYAC selection this season, averaging a double-double at 14 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. In conference games, she averaged 15.1 points per game and 10.3 rebounds. Romtio shot 58 percent from the field this season, including 71 percent from the line. She also tallied 47 blocks in her senior season.

In the classroom, she has a 3.73 cumulative GPA and 3.61 GPA for the 2022 fall semester as a double major in communications and math.
