NBCSN Returns to Broadcast NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour ‘Toyota Mod Classic’ at Oswego

OSWEGO, NY – For the fifth year in a row, national television coverage will be back at Oswego Speedway as the NBC Sports Network is set to return on Bud Classic Weekend to broadcast the third running of the Toyota Mod Classic 150 for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour set for September 1.

“We are very happy to welcome back NASCAR and NBC to Oswego Speedway,” said public relations director Camden Proud. “Couple NBCSN coverage of the NWMT show along with the International Classic on Speed Sport, these tremendous platforms only allow us to spread the word even further about one of short track racings crown jewels; Classic Weekend at Oswego.”

As done in 2017, this year’s Toyota Mod Classic 150 will not be aired live, with tape delay viewing of the broadcast available on NBCSN five days later on September 6 at 6 p.m. The ground pounding action will be available on national airwaves to those with any network carrying NBC Sports. This includes DIRECtv, Dish, Spectrum, and more. Check your local listings for channel information.

Last September, NASCAR star Ryan Preece drove to an emotional first career Oswego checkered flag after finding his way by local standout Matt Hirschman for the top spot shortly after lap 100. Each of these drivers are expected back this Labor Day Weekend, along with Justin Bonsignore, Doug Coby, Rowan Pennink, Timmy Solomito, and the rest of the stars and cars of the NWMT.

Classic Weekend runs from August 31 through September 2, with Friday featuring ‘Pole Day’ time trials for the Novelis Supermodifieds and Pathfinder Bank SBS. Saturday will see the return of the NWMT 150 alongside the 24th annual ISMA Supernationals 60 for the Winged Supermodifieds. The weekend closes on Sunday with the first-ever appearance of the 350 SMAC Supermodifieds in a 35-lap main event, the Pathfinder Bank SBS Bud Light Classic 75, and of course the Budweiser International Classic 200 for the Novelis Supermodifieds.
