Oswego, NY – Novelis has joined on as the presenting sponsor of the upcoming Tri-Oswego 2012 Triathlon scheduled for June 16th in Oswego, according to Tri-Oswego Race Director Shane Broadwell. This is the second consecutive year Novelis has partnered with the event.
“Novelis was a tremendous supporter of our inaugural Tri-Oswego event last year, and we are proud to have them as a partner once again in 2012,” said Broadwell. “They are a considerable asset to our community with regard to their outreach, and we are truly grateful to have their continued support for our popular event.”
The USA Triathlon sanctioned event will include a Sprint Tri, Intermediate Tri, and Sprint Relay Tri event on Saturday, June 16th. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Oswego County Sunset Group, an Oswego-based 501 c 3 non-profit organization that was established in 2011 to benefit ongoing youth development programs throughout Oswego County.

According to Broadwell, the Novelis Kids’ Fun Run will complement a variety of other activities scheduled during the event including: Youth Bicycle Rodeo, Zumba and Yoga for kids, Race Banner making, Kite flying, Inflatable Bounce Houses, and more.

Tri-Oswego participants that register early will have an opportunity to save on their entry. Registration fees for the Sprint Distance are $90.00 until April 30, 2012 and $100.00 from May 1, 2012 – June 8, 2012. Registration fees for the Intermediate Distance are $105.00 until April 30, 2012 and $115.00 from May 1, 2012 – June 8, 2012. Registration fees for the Sprint Distance Relay are $210.00 until April 30, 2012 and $240.00 from May 1, 2012 – June 8, 2012.
Proof of USA Triathlon membership is required at registration. If you are not an annual USA Triathlon member, you must purchase a one-day membership. The cost is $5.00 for 17 and under and $10.00 for 18 and older.
