Oswego Earns Best Track/Series Social Media in ‘51 Awards’

OSWEGO, NY – For the third year in a row, Oswego Speedway has earned the decorated distinction of being honored for having the ‘Best Track/Series Social Media’ in all of short track racing for 2017.

Since 2012, Oswego Speedway’s social media efforts have taken off on the platforms of Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, allowing the track to win the award now three years in a row and for the first year under new public relations director Camden Proud.

“Oswego Speedway is humbled to receive the honor of best track/series social media in short track racing for the third year in a row,” Proud said. “Each year we look forward to the 51s and one of my goals was to be on the ballot again for social media. We’d like to thank the best fans in the world for recognizing our tireless efforts and helping us capture this award.”

Last season, Oswego Speedway’s social media soared to new heights throughout the track’s headlining event, Budweiser International Classic Weekend, and continued through NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week 47 during the track’s transformation process from asphalt to dirt for the second time in as many years.

Throughout 2017, Oswego public relations produced just more than 100 press releases for online and print publication, hundreds of photos, video content, and thousands of social media posts and updates to keep fans across the globe updated and informed about the famed ‘Indy of the East.’

“Oswego Speedway in Upstate New York has mastered the art of social media,” siad the editing team at Speed51.com. “They are creative, witty, and informative. That’s why this track has received this recognition from the fans for now a third straight year.”

Oswego Speedway uses social media as its primary way to promote events and recap races to an overall audience of more than 20,000 fans, followers and subscribers seven days a week, 365 days a year.

‘The Steel Palace’ beat out the World of Outlaws and Stafford Motor Speedway in Connecticut for the top spot while Dells Raceway Park in Wisconsin and the Chili Bowl Nationals finished fourth and fifth.
