Submitted article

After a slow start to the season, the jayvee girls’ soccer team is 3-2 over the last five games and playing some good soccer.

On September 25th, the girls defeated North Rose 8-1. A few days later, lost 7-0 to a very strong Baldwinsville team. Then  met up with Corcoran and won 5-0, with Meghan Flack and Cassie Collins sharing a shutout.

Next up was Cicero-North Syracuse and the squad took took CNS to overtime, but basically “ran out of gas”, eventually losing 4-2. Scoring in this game were Taylar Cianfarano (with a volley off of a corner kick) and Liz Michaud off of a free kick.

Coach Megan Daley said, “This was probably one of our best games of the season. The girls worked hard throughout the game and really played as a team. Even though we didn’t come away with the win, I was proud of how the girls played.”

Daley said, “We had pressure on the Black Knights for the entire game. At first we couldn’t find the back of the net, but eventually Taylar Cianfarano opened the scoring off of a corner kick. Other scorers were Courtney Louis and Abbey Henderson (2 each), Jaime Bouffard, Christie Hoefer, and Devyn Hutcheson.”

Members of the jayvee team are Courtney Louis, Hannah Allen, Paige Hart, Emily Kolenda, Bri Favata, Meghan Flack, Cassie Collins, Nikki Barlow, Abby Haessig, Abbey Henderson, Caroline Reynolds, Tori Frazier, Jaime Bouffard, Liz Michaud, Taylar Cianfarano, Devyn Hutcheson, and Christie Hoefer.
