Oswego JV Volleyball Ends Solid Week With Win

It was a three match week for the Oswego jayvee girls’ volleyball team, but it was capped off with a 25-20, 25-21 and 22-25 win over Auburn on Thursday.

Coach Ted Beers said, “We had a good week. We played well against West Genesee, but we did not capitalize on Genny’s mistakes and missed touches. Against Henninger we played the game I wanted our girls to play. We were very aggressive on offense and had some great passing from the back row. Against Auburn we played three good sets of volleyball. We struggled a bit with our serving at the start, but the last two sets our serves were right on and we had a good group of aces by the end of the match. All of our girls contributed and got us on the board early.”

The team is now 11-2 on the season.

Maggie Mooney has three aces and two assists while Becca Martin had an assist. Kaleigh Fitzsimmons had an ace and two assists. Taylor Giglio had an ace and two assists. Cydney Ward chalked up a point block. Laura Naron had a kill and two aces while Kat McNulty hit 10 aces. Carlie Morley finished with three kills. Mackenzie Oatman had two kills while Sarah Fox had a kill and two digs. Rachel Johnson mustered two kills and four aces. Danielle Faivus had a dig and Tayler Bowman two digs.
