Young Tyler Thompson displays his three championship trophies after a stellar weekend of kart racing at the Motorama Kart Championships in Harrisburg, Pa.
OSWEGO, NY – Oswego Kartway veteran Tyler Thompson continued his indoor racing tour this winter by taking on four separate divisions as a part of the annual Motorama Kart Championships held at the PA Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, Pa.

Just 14 years of age, Thompson impressed in his first visit to Motorama, taking feature event victories in three of the four divisions he competed in behind the wheel of his Team Tapout Racing, MBR Speed Shop, Performance Manufacturing, Slack Karts machines.
Thompson took dominant victories in Clone Blue Heavy, Junior Restricted Light, and Junior Restricted Heavy, winning each main by a full second or more, setting fast time in all three features.
The only setback for Thompson came while holding a near halftrack lead in the Clone Blue Light main event, as a lapped kart tagged the wall leaving Thompson nowhere to go.
After colliding with the lapped machine while leading, Thompson was relegated to a fifth place finish.
However, Thompson again managed to set fast time in the main with a lap of 6.426 seconds, a mere two tenths of a second shy of the raceway’s overall track record.
Three wins at Motorama coupled with a victory in the Indoor Winter Nationals at the New York State Fairgrounds, gives Thompson a total of four victories this indoor season, in his first year of indoor racing.
With wins in New York and Pennsylvania, Thompson also showed well at the popular King of the Concrete championships in North Carolina with three podium finishes as well as a runner-up run against the adults at the famous Hogbarn in Columbus, Ohio.
With the indoor season wrapped up, Thompson will now shift focus back to the dirt of Oswego Kartway, where he claimed four main event victories last season, as well as the hotly contested NYDKS State Championship Tour, all again behind the wheel of his MBR Speed Shop, Performance Manufacturing, Slack Karts ride.
