MEN’S B-SLOW PLAYOFF

SEMIFINALS

GARY’S 19 CHEAP SEATS 7

Gary’s which finished second in the league defeated Cheap Seats by a score of 19 to 7 on 25 hits.  After falling behind by 3 Gary’s scored 6 in the bottom of the first and never looked back. The game ended by the run rule in the bottom of sixth as Ron Cahill hit a home run.  That was Cahill’s second home run of the game.  Greg Lavery also homered for Gary’s.  Tim Kirwan had 3 of Cheap Seats 10 hits, as each of his hits was a home run.

SCRIBA TOWN INN 9 ALLIANCE 8

Regular season champs Scriba Town Inn had to rallied from two runs down in the seventh to claim a 9 to 8 win over Alliance.  Scriba Town Inn scored the winning run after Kevin Luhr had hit a two run homer to tie the game in the bottom of the 7th.    Tim Hammond had a two run homer in the fourth.  Leading Alliance with four hits was Luke Castor.  Denny shortslef added three hits.

FINALS BEST OF THREE

GARY’S 21 SCRIBA TOWN INN 9

Gary’s took game one of this best of 3 series as they routed regular season champs Scriba Town Inn by a score of 21 to 9. Behind the ten hit pitching performance of B.J. Mc Anulty, Ron Cahill provided the offensive power with two 2 run homers.  Picking up three hits each for Gary’s was Joe Bartosek, Adam Pitcher and Brandon Pitcher.  John Bugow and Bobby Galletta each had two hits for Scriba Town Inn.  Game 2 and 3 if needed in this best of three series will be played Monday August 18th at Legends complex.

SEMIFINALS

CHEAP SEATS 10 CATHY’S WINGS 7

Will Dumont’s three run walk off homer gave Cheap Seats at 10 to 7 win over Cathy’s Wings.  That was Dumont’s second three run shot of the game as his first one came in the first to give Cheap Seats a 3 to 1 lead.  Art Brown had three hits for cheap Seats while winning pitcher Jim Higgins also had three hits.  For Cathy’s Wings Dustin Price had a triple and single, while Roger Barnes and Mike Spicer each had three hits.

THIRSTY’S 9 CAC PROPERTY MANAGEMENT 7

Regular season champ Thirsty’s had to hold off a very determined CAC Property Management team to earn a 9 to 7 win.   Leading Thirsty’s with a home run was Ed Kuzawski, while Dominick Ritz doubled.  Jerod Finch had a double for CAC, while Will Polter had two hits.  Thirsty’s and Cheap Seats will meet Monday August 18th at Legends for games one and two of the C-slow pitch finals.

SEMIFINALS

LA GRAFF’S 20 FRONT DOOR 7

Exploding for 12 runs in the first two innings, La Graff’s went on to close out the Front Door Season with a 20 to 7 win. One of the big blows came off of the Bat of Dan Marino as he hit a three run homer in the second inning.  Winning pitcher Rich Runner had four hits for La Graff’s with one of them being a double.  Bill Sharkey had four hits with two of them being doubles, while Jerry Blum had two hits and a double.  Chris Pooler added four hits.  For Front Door Pat Chalone had a single and double.  Mike Mc Carthy Sr had two doubles, while George Hoffman V also doubled in the game.

CHEAP SEATS 9 NINE MILE 3

Regular season champions Cheap Seats was challenged by Nine Mile for a hard fought 9 to 3 wins.  Nine Mile which had been completed dominated during the regular season by Cheap Seats made a valiant attempt in this contest to try and register their first win.  However Cheap Seats had strong offensive support from Ryan Delong who had a double and two run homer.  Also George Delong and Dan Goodrow each doubled in the contest,  For Nine Mile Nick Tryt and Jon Pryor each singled and tripled, while Shawn Hicks added a triple.  Cheap Seats will Meet La Graffs in the best of 3 C-slow pitch finals Tuesday August 19th at legends field.

MEN’S C-FAST

PAUL’S BIG M 20 GRACE O’MALLEY’S 12

Scoring 11 times in the top of the 5th, Paul’s Big M handed Grace O’Malleys their third loss of the season by a score of 20 to 12.  For Paul’s A.J. King had a tripled, while Brady Torbitt and Mark Lommis each had a single, double and triple.  Chris Paone added a single and triple.  For Grace O’Malley’s, Derrick Harrington had three hits, while Gary Carpentier and Joe Bartosek had three hits each.  Paul’s which finished fourth in the league via the tie breaker formula will meet Grace O’Malley’s this Friday in the semifinals of C-Fast at 6pm

SOUTH FORTY 10 RVP INTERNATIONAL 2

In a game ended by the run rule after five South 40 defeated RVP International by a score of 10 to 2.  Jorge Young led south 40 with a double and home run, while Cory Sullivan added a home run,  John Randall had a double, while both Steve Young and Eric Sherman had two hits each.  For RVP International Scott Samson had two hits, while Scott Cannova, Ed Mahar and Dan Taylor each had one.  Bill Bosch was the winning pitcher.
