Oswego, NY – A number of Oswego Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) players and other individuals within the community have volunteered to have their heads shaved in an effort to raise money for The St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
This year’s St. Baldrick’s event is scheduled for Monday, February 28th, 2011 at 7:00 pm in the Campus Center Food Court. It is not too late to get more shavees enrolled, and join the Oswego Minor Hockey Team and SUNY Campus Center event to support the fight against childhood cancer.
Each year 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer worldwide. Cancer is the number one disease killer of children in the U.S. and Canada. Research saves lives, and all monies raised at this event will go towards the research of childhood cancer. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any other organization (except the US government).
