OSWEGO, NY – Oswego Speedway, the Home of Supermodified racing, will once again be featured at the annual National Parts Peddler Trade Show held at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, November 16-18.
The National Parts Peddler Trade Show, now in its 33rd year, continues its tradition of bringing car builders, manufacturers and speedways together to introduce their latest products, promotions, and plans with one of the largest gatherings of motorsports enthusiasts in the country.
Oswego Speedway, which is coming off its second successful season with new owners John and Eric Torrese, will offer a sneak peek into the 2013 season at ‘The Steel Palace’ as well as a chance to get up close and personal with the 2012 championship Supermodified of Otto Sitterly and Nicotra Racing.
On lookers of the Oswego Speedway booth will not only have the opportunity to see a true to life 900-HP Supermodified, but they will also have the unique ability to turn a lap at the Speedway behind the wheel of one of the rarely seen Supermodified simulators.
The PC based simulation units, which were built by Rob Warren and owned by Speedway safety worker John Byrnes and LaGraf’s Pub owner/operator Bob Garafolo, feature race software utilized by the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series (SUPRS) which can be visited online at www.suprs.net
There will be two Supermodified simulators available in the Speedway booth and they will be synced together to allow more than one driver to participate at a time, giving pairs an opportunity to race against one another on the fast 5/8 mile Oswego Speedway.
Garafolo and Byrnes also promote their own weekly Supermodified simulation series at LaGraf’s Pub, located on E. 10th St. in Oswego, using two more simulators for a total of four. Stop by the Speedway booth at the Parts Peddler Show to get more information.
The Speedway booth will be manned with officials for the entire duration of the three day Parts Peddler show, and will have Speedway merchandise and apparel on sale including 2012 Budweiser International Classic T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies.
