Oswego State Basketball Camp Offers Youths Shooting and Fundamental Skills

Submitted article

The Oswego State Men’s Basketball program will be offering basketball camps for the youth for the 13th consecutive summer, under the direction of Oswego Men’s Basketball Coach Kevin Broderick.

Oswego State will be offering three separate sessions with opportunities for girls and boys, ranging from ages 6 to 17. All campers will receive a free Oswego State Basketball reversible jersey, and have the opportunity to register for special camp rates. The first camp session begins July 7th; the other two sessions are continued throughout the month of July.

The camps place special emphasis on helping young players improve their offensive skills, particularly focusing on improving shooting ability. According to Coach Broderick, “Learning how to shoot the basketball correctly is the most complicated of all the fundamental basketball skills. All of our camps will enable young players to learn the proper technique of shooting the basketball and improving their overall skills.”

Broderick has recently led his 2007-08 Laker team to a 21-8 record reaching the SUNYAC Championship game.

Broderick will lead his camp staff in emphasizing proper fundamentals and techniques in all areas of the game. The camp staff is expected to feature Oswego State Assistant Coaches as well as members of the 2007-08 Oswego State team, and outstanding area coaches and college players. Coach Broderick and his staff look forward to sharing their knowledge with the youth in the area.

To learn more about the camp sessions including fees, dates, and times please email Coach Broderick at [email protected] or call (315) 312-2379. All three camp sessions are to be held at Laker Hall on the Oswego State Campus.
