Oswego State men’s lacrosse pair Honored

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Oswego State men’s lacrosse faceoff specialist Tory Crevier (Fr., Webster, N.Y.) and midfielder Nick Giampaolo (Jr., Setauket, N.Y.) have been named to the All-State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Men’s Lacrosse Second Team as voted on by the league’s coaches.

Crevier, who was one of two freshmen to receive all-conference recognition, helped the Lakers post the best overall faceoff percentage among league teams by winning 63.0 percent of his faceoffs (189-for-300), which ranks 28th in NCAA Division III. He also led Oswego State with 84 groundballs, which was 46 ahead of the next-best finisher. Overall, Crevier tallied seven goals and two assists. Against SUNYAC opponents, he won 56.0 percent of his faceoffs (79-for-141), recorded 34 groundballs and scored three goals.

Giampaolo finished the season third in overall scoring for the Lakers with 17 goals and 21 assists for 38 points. He also scooped up 33 groundballs. In conference play, Giampaolo registered eight goals and six assists for 14 points, while gathering 16 groundballs.

Oswego State has posted overall records above .500 in back-to-back seasons for the first time since the 1996 and 1997 seasons after going 8-7 overall. The Lakers were 2-4 in SUNYAC play. missing or outdated ad config
