Oswego, NY – The Oswego Sub Shop will serve as the “Official Lunch Sponsor” once again this year for the Erik Cole Dream Big Foundation Golf Classic, to be held July 25th at the Oswego Country Club, according to Event Organizer Kevin Caraccioli.

“We’re very pleased to have the Oswego Sub Shop join us once again as our lunch sponsor at the golf event,” said Caraccioli. “We always appreciate the support that the Oswego Sub Shop provides this event, and the Greene Family has been a strong part of our community’s hockey family for years.”

The Erik Cole Dream Big Foundation was established in 2007 by Oswego-native, NHL hockey player, Stanley Cup Champion, and U.S. Olympian Erik Cole. The foundation and this year’s golf/hockey events will benefit youth hockey programs, as well as children who are suffering from cancer and other diseases.

The Oswego Sub Shop, established in 1969, is located at 106 West Bridge Street in Oswego and offers a variety of subs, delis, wraps and salads. The restaurant is newly renovated accommodating a new bakery, more seating, and the addition of new menu items including breakfast options.

The restaurant is proud to offer one particular entrée, “The Erik Cole Special” – a Texas Hot Bacon Cheeseburger Sub with everything but tomatoes.

“The Oswego Sub Shop is an icon in Oswego and Central New York and to have them continue to be a part of this event year after year is great,” said Cole. “I am looking forward to seeing Bill and his family at the event, and of course stopping in for the Cheeseburger Special.”

According to Caraccioli, this year’s golf tournament will showcase Cole, as well as other NHL players, national and regional media, and local celebrities. Celebrities committed thus far include: Carolina Hurricane Teammates Joe Corvo and Justin Peters, as well as NHL player and Fulton-native Rob Schremp.

The golf event will be a four-person captain-n-crew format, and corporate teams will receive 18 holes of golf at the Oswego Country Club, golf cart, lunch, cocktail party, dinner, tee and green signage and a gift bag. Individual fees include everything but the tee and green signage. Tickets for the cocktail party and dinner can be purchased separately for $50 per person.

Breakfast, registration and goodie bag pickup, as well as use of the Oswego Country Club Driving Range and Putting Green will be available from 9-11 a.m. Team photos and celebrity introductions will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. shotgun start. Cocktails and a silent auction begin at 5:00 p.m., followed by dinner, an awards presentation, and live auction starting at 6 p.m.

A light breakfast and coffee for the hockey and golf events will be served, as well as the Oswego Sub Shop lunch at the turn during the golf tournament.

In addition to the traditional golf event, the 3-on-3 Youth Hockey Classic will return as young regional hockey and sledge hockey players show off their talents at the SUNY Oswego Campus Center Ice Arena on July 22-24.

This year’s weekend activities will also include the Hockey Hall of Fame exhibit from Toronto on July 23rd at the Campus Center, as well as an NHL Player Exhibition that day, as Cole and many of his NHL friends and teammates take the ice to show off their unique talents. In addition, the popular hockey-themed musical group The Zambonis will perform at the Campus Center during the NHL Player Exhibition.

The field of teams for both the 3-on-3 youth hockey classic and golf tournament have been filled according to Caraccioli. For more information on tickets for the dinner/silent auction for Monday evening please contact the Erik Cole Dream Big Foundation.
