Oswego Sub Shop Peewees Split Recent Contests

OSWEGO – On Saturday, The Oswego Tier II Travel team sponsored by the Oswego Sub Shop lost to League foe New Hartford 1-6.

Oswego’s lone goal was a first period unassisted tally by Lou Roman.

New Hartford scored twice in the first and four times in the second to make it 6-1.

The third period was scoreless.

Oswego’s Bradley Livesey made 21 saves.

New Hartford’s Sawyer Kramer recorded 8 saves.

Coach Ben Miller said, “The game was much closer than the score would show. We made a few mistakes in the 2nd and they capitalized. We have to clean up our play in the defensive zone if we are going to stay with a good team like New Hartford.”

On Sunday morning, the Sub Shop Peewees traveled to Auburn, handing the hosts a 5-4 defeat.

The Bucs got goals from Brayden Miller (2), Lucas Bruns, Connor Morgia and Joe Brodeur.

Assists were given to Lucas Mannicia, Brodeur, Mia Fierro and Ian Cady.

Oswego Goalie Keegan Finch stopped 15 shots – including one in the closing seconds as Auburn was on the power play and had pulled its goalie in favor of the extra skater.

Coach Miller said that he was proud of the effort of each of his skaters.

“They bounced back after a tough loss on Saturday to hold on for a win in a tough Auburn rink,” he said.
