The Oswego Lady Buccaneer’s had several members names to the CNYCL All League Team based on a strong 2nd place league finish (9-4) in the league.
Junior Captain Vanessa Sheffield, a Buc Booster MVP, was named Player of the Year and First Team All League. Sheffield was also a member of the All CNY team. She lead Oswego in kills (436), aces (73), and point blocks (101). Senior Captain Katie Flanagan, also a Buc Booster MVP, was named First team All League for the second straight year. She lead Section III, the league, and team in assists (804). Oswego’s other Senior Captain Jessica Benjamin, also a Buc Booster MVP, was named the final First Team All League Player. Benjamin is a four time All League player and was a versatile all around player with kills (243), digs(225), and aces (59).
Oswego was awarded with three Second Team All League players. Mary Montagnola (346 digs), Lauren Corradino (92 kills, 106 digs), and Cari Reed (93 kills, 70 digs, 45 aces, 48 assists) all were awarded for their stellar play throughout the year.
Oswego’s Lauren Hunt (104 kills, 33 aces) and Morgan Lavner(37 kills, 94 digs, 44 aces) were named Honorable Mention All League.
“I have been very proud of these young ladies as each has made a strong commitment and effort to keep Oswego near the top of our league and section.†said Coach Ahart.
