Oswego Yacht Club 2025 Fall Intraclub Regatta

OSWEGO – The Oswego Yacht Club (OYC) was thrilled to host its first small-boat sailing regatta in nearly a decade on Saturday, October 11th. Racing took place just east of the Oswego Harbor under oscillating 10 mph southerly winds.

Eight club members skippered in the Flying Scot one-design class, completing five races with crews of two or three. Overall winner, Tom Doran, and his crew Christie Losurdo & Tim O’Dell, sailed five consecutive First Place finishes at the helm of Tada!. Skippers Greg Coffey and Matt Johnson earned Second and Third Place, respectively.

More than 25 members of the Oswego community participated in the on-the-water event, followed by an even greater turnout at the Fall Dinner and Awards Ceremony later that evening.

The success and enthusiasm surrounding the regatta marked an exciting moment for the city’s recreational boating community, and OYC is proud to be a part of it. With twelve boats now in their reestablished Flying Scot Fleet, which includes several club boats available to experienced skippers, the Club is looking forward to a busy 2026 sailing season.

OYC offers ‘Try Sailing’ events in the Spring for non-members (no experience necessary), as well as weekly sailboat racing through the summer, and the annual Hospice Benefit Regatta in June. Membership is open and interested boaters are warmly invited to join. For more information, contact [email protected]
