OSWEGO, NY – The Oz Roller Girls flat track roller derby team donated a portion of the proceeds from its first bout to the local Veterans Administration Outpatient Clinic.
Involved in the donation are, from left, Laura Wills (also known as Certified Public Assassin) and Jamie Leszczynski (J Rock-It) of the Oz Roller Girls; Kathy Ranous, Peggy Cullen and Beth Castleman representing the VA Outpatient Clinic; and Oz Roller Girls members Lindi Himes (Crushed Red Pepper) and Katherine Hansen (Kannonball Kat-astrophe).
For the next bout – a doubleheader of Oz vs. Watertown’s Black River Rollers and intrasquad teams Nukes of Hazzard vs. Port City Sirens starting at 6 p.m. May 14, at Crisafulli Rink in Oswego – a portion of the proceeds will support the Oswego County Humane Society spay/neuter clinic.
