OSWEGO, New York – The Rudy’s Mite B Team captured two wins over the weekend against Valley and Lysander to start their regular season.
On Saturday, the Rudy’s squad beat Valley 6-2 at the Oswego Fort Rink. Mark Jones led the team with 4 goals and one assist, Spencer Stepien added a goal and an assist, Lucas Shepardson had a goal, and Andrew Noyes had one assist. Goalie Nick Burnett got the win in net and recorded 4 saves.
Rudy’s Head Coach Mark Fierro was very pleased with his squad and said the team defense was a big factor in their win. Cammi Ahern and Tyler Wallace both played very strong on defense and helped Burnett get the win.
On Sunday, the Rudy’s team traveled to Lysander and won 4-2 behind the offensive attack of Mark Jones, who had 4 goals, and Cammi Ahern who added one assist. Andrew Noyes also played very well on offense against the Lysander squad. Nick Burnett got the win in goal and recorded 17 saves for Rudy’s.
Others contributing well for the team over the weekend were Bryson Bush, Cole Cullinan, Katie Fierro, Evan Giocondo, Julia Roman, and Isaiah Raby.
