Step One Creative Summer Scramble at Oswego Country Club Posts Record Turn Out

The Oswego County Historical Society (OCHS) was the recipient of a $580 donation recently from Step One Creative, as part of the marketing firm’s sponsorship of the annual Summer Scramble held at the Oswego Country Club. The event included a record 29 teams (116 golfers) and was won by the team of Step One Creative. OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Country Club held its annual Summer Scramble recently, surpassing last year’s record number of participants, according to Tournament Director Ed Fayette.

Step One Creative, an Oswego-based marketing communications firm, sponsored the event.

29 teams (116 golfers) participated in the captain-n-crew format this year, and the winning team was the tournament host Step One Creative. Their team, consisting of Shane Stepien, Tom Roman, Bill Herbst and Sean Marsh, shot 13-under par or 58.

The tournament format allows for members to invite up to 3 non-members/guests in the four-person captain-n-crew event.

Step One Creative also announced that the Oswego County Historical Society (OCHS) was the recipient of this year’s Summer Scramble donation that goes annually to a non-profit organization.  $5 of each of the participant’s registration fee goes towards the donation..

The contribution to OCHS totaled $580, according to Shane Stepien, president of Step One Creative.

“We appreciate the opportunity to partner with the Oswego Country Club on this annual event as a sponsor, and are pleased to be able to give something back to our community with this year’s donation to The Oswego County Historical Society,” said Stepien.  “The historical society’s “Be Historical. Keep History Alive!” fundraising campaign that was held throughout the month of July was a perfect fit for this year’s Summer Scramble contribution.”

Fayette thanked Oswego Country Club Golf Professionals Jon Fowler and Will Weimer along with their Pro Shop staff, Scott Peters and his grounds crew, Chris Carpenter’s restaurant staff, and tournament sponsor Step One Creative for the successful event.
