Step One Creative Summer Scramble at Oswego Country Club Set For Monday, June 28th

OSWEGO, New York – The Oswego Country Club will hold their Summer Scramble Golf Tournament on June 28th, according to Tournament Director Ed Fayette.

Step One Creative, an Oswego-based advertising and public relations firm will once again sponsor the event. Greene’s Ale House has also joined on as the event’s lunch sponsor.

The 4-man captain-n-crew tournament will expand to 30 teams this year as a result of the event’s success over the last couple of years.

“This event has become a very popular tournament in recent years,” said Fayette. “And, we’re looking forward to another strong field of participants again this year.”

“We’re very pleased to have Step One Creative as our event sponsor and appreciate greatly what they’ve done to help generate the interest and level of participation for this tournament,” Fayette added. “We would also like to thank Greene’s Ale House for joining on as our lunch sponsor this year.”

Registration for the four-person captain-n-crew style tournament begins at noon and a shotgun start is slated for 1 p.m. The cost is $60 per person or $240 a team and includes a cart, commemorative gift, lunch (at the turn) and dinner.

According to Fayette, 1 team member must be an Oswego Country Club member, with no more than 2 Oswego Country Club members per team.

Last year’s winning team was led by Oswego Country Club members Todd Donahue and Marc Ciappa. Their team, which included guests Matt and Bob Ruggio, shot 14-under par or 57.

As a part of Step One Creative’s sponsorship of the summer scramble, a portion of each of the players’ registration fee will go to a local non-profit organization.

Last year’s recipient was Farnham Family Services, an outpatient drug and alcohol treatment, prevention and intervention clinic located in Oswego and Fulton. The donation totaled $540, according to Shane Stepien, president of Step One Creative.

This year’s recipient will be the Oswego County Historical Society and will benefit their Be Historical Fundraising Campaign that will kick off in July throughout the County.
