SUNY Oswego Laker Women’s Ice Hockey Team To Host United Way Night

OSWEGO, NY – Representatives from the United Way of Greater Oswego County will be on hand to drop the puck for the SUNY Oswego Laker Women’s Ice Hockey game at 7 p.m. Saturday at the SUNY Oswego Campus Center as the Laker Women take on Potsdam.

The SUNY Oswego Laker Women’s Ice Hockey Team and the United Way of Greater Oswego County are working together this season to help each organization reach its goals for their respective 2008-09 campaigns.

Members of the SUNY Oswego Laker Women’s Ice Hockey Team lent their support to the United Way’s Annual Campaign by appearing at the kickoff breakfast and pledging to support the United Way’s Annual Campaign with their Dollars for Goals campaign.

In return representatives from the United Way are encouraging the community to help the SUNY Oswego Laker Women’s Ice Hockey Team by coming to the games and experiencing the excitement of Laker Women’s Ice Hockey.

“We are pleased to be working collaboratively with the SUNY Oswego Laker Women’s Ice Hockey Team,” said Melanie Trexler, executive director of the United Way of Greater Oswego County.  “Their enthusiasm and energy is inspiring.  I know that with the combination of their hard work and the generous support of the many caring businesses and individuals in Oswego County we will both reach our goals and have a successful 2008 campaign.”

SUNY Oswego Laker Women’s Ice Hockey Coach Diane Dillon,as well as Laker Men’s Coach Ed Gosek, are asking community members to support their teams’ Dollars For Goals drive by pledging to donate to the United Way’s Annual Campaign, a dollar amount of their choice for each goal that the SUNY Oswego Laker Women’s Ice Hockey Team or the SUNY Oswego Laker Men’s Hockey Team scores during the 2008-09 season.

United Way Goal Pledge Forms will be available at the Oswego Laker Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey home games.

Tickets for all SUNY Oswego Laker Women’s Ice Hockey games may be purchased at the Campus Center Box Office, on the concourse near the plaza entrance and ice arena.

The box office is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
