Three Oswego Speedway Race Team Fundraisers Ready This Weekend

OSWEGO, NY – Three separate Oswego Speedway race team fundraisers will be taking place this weekend for Supermodified veteran Jerry Curran as well as SBS racers Dennis Rupert and Josh Kerr.

Curran, driver of the Nuclear Banana No. 24 Supermodified, will hold his benefit at the Woodchuck Saloon in Oswego on Saturday, beginning at noon.

For a $10 donation the fundraiser will include either a chicken or pulled pork BBQ dinner.  Door prizes, 50/50 drawings, and other raffles will also be a part of the day along with music provided by DJ Donwan.

Curran ran a part-time schedule at the Speedway in 2015, but is hoping to put all the pieces together for a full-time program in 2016.

Rupert, the driver of the No. 99 SBS machine, will once again hold his big money raffle and race team fundraiser at Lakeview Lanes in Fulton on Saturday, beginning at noon.

Chicken dinners which include salt potatoes, coleslaw, and a roll will be available for $10.

Big money raffle tickets are also available for $40, which includes a free dinner.

The grand prize money raffle will take place at 4 p.m. on Saturday with each ticket holder having 21 chances to win.

Ticket holders do not need to be present to win.

Rupert finished the 2015 season 14th in the overall driver standings with one top five finish.

The Kerr Racing No. 8 SBS team with driver Josh Kerr will hold its team’s fundraiser on Sunday at Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego, beginning at 1 p.m.

The fundraiser features chicken BBQ dinners for a donation of $10.  Door prizes and other raffles will also be a part of the day’s activities as well as music from DJ Donwan.

Kerr finished last year’s campaign 16th in the overall standings, but did collect his first career main event win at the Speedway on June 20.

Kids 16 and under will again be admitted free at all Speedway events in 2016 with the exception of Budweiser International Classic Weekend and Race of Champions Weekend.
