Varsity Baseball: Corcoran 11, Oswego 1

A five-run fifth inning put the game away for the Cougars. Cody Brett doubled for the Bucs. He started and took the loss. Oswego is 8-9 on the season.

Varsity Baseball: Fulton 6, Fowler 2

Gary Kemp pitched into the 6th inning for the win. He and reliever Zak Ives held the 0-18 Falcons to 7 hits. Marshall Cooper and John Rizzo doubled for the Raiders (4-13).

Varsity Softball: Oswego 14, Corcoran 4

Five runs in the first inning and six more in the fourth inning turned this game into a runaway. Starter Lauren Corradino and reliever Laura Miceli held the 1-18 Cougars to just three hits, while Corcoran gave up 10 hits and committed 7 errors. Marissa Canale doubled and tripled for the Bucs. Canale, Corradino and Sarah Petrie each drove in two runs.

Varsity Boys Lacrosse: Fulton 12, ES-M 9

Down 3-1 after the first quarter, Fulton used a 6-3 second quarter to establish a narrow halftime lead. Single goal advantages in the final quarters gave the 5-13 Raiders the upset win over the 10-6 Spartans. Nick Bolton broke out with a five goal, one assist game. Brett Williams had four goals and an assist. David Williams tallied three goals and three assists. Adam Wilcox stopped 14 shots.

Varsity Girls Lacrosse: ES-M 15, Fulton 10

This game was tied at halftime, but an 8-3 second half gave the Spartans the win. Shelly Bateman had four goals and an assist for Fulton while Heather Coppola scored twice. Brittan McCann stopped 6 shots for Fulton (8-6).

Varsity Tennis: Fulton 5, Cortland 2

This match was a little closer than the score indicates. Fulton swept the three doubles matches, but the two singles wins each took three sets. Adam Doherty won at first singles, 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 while Jake West won 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. Phil Merriam, at third singles, lost a heartbreaker, 7-5, 7-5. Fulton is 7-6.

Varsity Girls Golf: Baldwinsville 159, Oswego 186

From the coach: “On Thursday, the Lady Buc Golf Team lost to a strong Baldwinsville squad by a score of 159-186 at Hickory Hills Golf Club. Two Oswego golfers managed to play their best golf of the season in defeat. Emily Fiorini toured the front nine at Hickory in 45 strokes, her lowest total of the season. Mariah LaLonde was also at her best, completing the nine holes in 41 shots. Her round included a fantastic par 3 on the eighth hole. Also scoring in the match were Oswego golfers Rachel Baxter (50) and Savannah Bell (50). The team finishes off their 2008 season next week with 3 straight matches (Tuesday-Thursday). The girls have come a long way since the start of the season. They hope to finish on a strong note.”

JV Boys Lacrosse: Oswego 9, Central Square 6

From coach Josh Molinari: “The Oswego JV Boys Lacrosse team (6-7) played their best game of the season beating a highly skilled Central Square 9-6. Pat Holland got the Bucs on the board to start the game but Central Square answered right back a minute later. The rest of the first quarter would be a defensive battle, as the score would remain tied. The Bucs broke out in the second quarter taking a 7-3 lead. Central Square fought their way back into the game in the second half, closing the gap to 7-5 before the Bucs scored two more to put the game out of reach. Leading the way was Holland with four goals. Matt Lloyd and Matt Donovan each scored twice. Ryan Ramsey scored a goal and picked up two assists. Dustin Kavanaugh also had an assist. Brandon Galloway, Ricky Uribe and Ryan Higgins combined to win 12 of 17 face-offs. Garrett Crisafulli had a great game in the goal stopping 12 shots. Derek Natoli also had two saves. The JV laxers will resume play Friday in Liverpool.”
