Seven time Oswego Speedway champion Otto Sitterly is now the Novelis Supermodified point leader for the first time in 2016.
OSWEGO, NY – With three races down in Oswego Speedway’s 2016 Road to the Championship, several key players have emerged as threats for the coveted Speedway track title in both the Novelis Supermodified and Pathfinder Bank SBS divisions.
After spending two weeks at the top of the Novelis Supermodified driver standings, a broken bolt in the steering of the Syrell Racing No. 68 relegated Michael Barnes to a 12th place finish in the Jim Shampine Memorial. However, quick work by the Syrell Racing team helped to salvage several positions, leaving Barnes only nine points out of the championship lead heading into the weekend.
Right there to capitalize on Barnes’ misfortune was seven-time Speedway champion, Otto Sitterly.
Despite not winning a main event yet in 2016, the first time since 2007 that Sitterly has not won one of the first three races of the season, the Canajoharie, NY, driver is now leading the championship over Barnes with three consecutive top five finishes.
Joining Barnes and Sitterly in the hunt for the title are Tim Devendorf, Brandon Bellinger, Dave Gruel, Michael Muldoon, Dave Danzer, Kody Graham, Jeff Abold, Aric Iosue, Pat Lavery, and Dan Connors Jr.
All 12 drivers are within 62 points of each other, a deficit which has been erased in the past.
The championship battle on the Pathfinder Bank SBS side of the pit area is shaping up to be epic, with seven drivers within 21 points of championship leader Mike Bond.
Bond picked up the opening night win of the season in the SBS ranks to get a head start, but Dave Cliff, Kreig Heroth, Anthony Losurdo, Mike Bruce, Camden Proud, and Jack Patrick are no doubt ready to pounce at any misfortune.
Dalton Doyle, Barry Kingsley, and Scott Shafer are right there as well battling inside the championship top ten.

C’s Beverage Center and Century 21 Galloway Realty Spring Championship ‘6-Pack the Back’ night featuring a 50-lap Novelis Supermodified feature and a 30-lap Pathfinder Bank SBS main event.
WHEN:
Saturday, June 11 at Oswego Speedway in Oswego, NY. Pit gates will open at 3 p.m., front and rear grandstands at 4:30 p.m., hot laps at 4:30 p.m., racing at 6:30 p.m.

Oswego Speedway is located at 300 E. Albany St. in Oswego, NY
TICKETS:
Front grandstand padded reserved seats $20, general admission $15, rear grandstand general admission $20, pit passes $30, VIP $75. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling (315) 342-0646. Kids 16 and under are free with paid adult. Active military are free with proper ID.

– Six pack size coolers permitted in the rear grandstand ONLY
– Food & beverage permitted inside coolers, including beer
– No glass containers allowed
– One cooler per individual allowed
– Minors not permitted to carry in a cooler containing beer
– No re-entry with a cooler
– $20 general admission to sit in rear grandstand
– 2016 season passes can be used for rear grandstand seating
– Price Chopper Tickets to Go participants must pay $5 to sit in rear grandstand
– Any six pack size cooler permitted. Does not have to be an Oswego Speedway cooler
