OSWEGO, NY – Oswego Community Christian School students are doing their part to support the school’s fifth annual auction.
Students in each grade have been busy preparing themed baskets that will be up for bid during the auction. Each basket will be filled with an array of goodies that pertain to a unique theme.
Sue Bakos, planning committee coordinator, said the students are enthused about making the baskets and enjoy selecting the items to be included.
“They are really being creative and having fun putting their baskets together. It’s nice to see them put so much thought into it,” said Bakos.
Themes for the baskets include: Cooking, Road Trip / Travel, Golf, Camping, and Sports and Recreation.
Oswego Christian Community School’s auction will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Oswego Armory, West First Street.
The event, which serves as the school’s largest fundraiser, will feature a silent auction from 1 until 2:30 p.m. followed by a live auction featuring auctioneer Jim Deacons of Crossroads Auction Center in Central Square.
The themed baskets will be a welcome addition to the extensive list of items that will be up for bid, including: Disney World Park Hopper Passes; gift cards to area retailers and restaurants; gift certificates for spa treatments, hotel getaways, and automotive services; jewelry and beauty products and more.
A photo show of many items are available via a link on the schools website at www.myoccs.org
Bakos added that the event would also include Oswego Community Christian School’s annual prize drawing.
“For a donation of $10 individuals will have the opportunity to win one of three great prizes including a grand prize of either a five-night Disney World vacation for a family of four or a $1,000 VISA gift card, winner’s choice; a second prize of an Apple iPad 2; and a third prize of either a $250 gas or grocery card, winner’s choice,” said Bakos.
All proceeds from this event will be used for the continued improvement of the quality of education offered to the students at OCCS.
