By: Eric Belair, Director of Sports Information for the Syracuse Strong

Are you ready for some football… some Syracuse Strong football?
After opening up the season with a 14-3 victory on the road against the league’s defending champion Plattsburgh North Stars last weekend, the Syracuse Strong will have their home opener this Saturday, July 18, at 7 p.m. at Nottingham High School as they host the Glove Cities Colonials.
In last week’s matchup, the Strong started out the game with two early touchdowns in the first quarter, giving them a 14-0 lead. Syracuse never looked back as the defense only gave up a field goal in the second quarter.
Syracuse will host the Colonials on Saturday for the first game in front of the home crowd. Glove Cities is coming off of a 37-0 loss to the Glens Falls Greenjackets.
To help build the excitement of the team’s home opener, The Syracuse Strong Dance Team will be debuting prior to the coin flip to kick off the season. Also performing during the game will be the Elks Drum Line. This talented drum line is made up of children around the Syracuse area. Along with this performances will be fun giveaways and cash prizes.
