An external auditor recently summarized the Fulton City School District audit findings which were then relayed to the Board of Education at Tuesday’s (Oct 25) regular meeting. The audit showed that the revenues of the district exceeded the expenditures for the 2015-16 school budget, resulting in an operational surplus just over $518,000 allowing school officials to replenish district’s reserves and fund balances.
US Senator Charles Schumer revealed that the NRC has completed an audit conducted at his urging and will beef up security at nuclear power plants around the country. Recommendations include more training to identify possible terrorists, access to criminal data bases and more frequent re-screening of employees.
The Oswego City School District’s board of education recently heard recommendations to make the district safer, more efficient and better prepared for the future. The report contained recommendations for board action. There were also recommendations for Information / Technology, Business Department, schools and other departments.
The nearly 100-page document has common sense recommendations, according to the council president. “There may be ways to get more bang for the buck. We’ll point out potential savings; you have to make the final determination,” a member of the audit team told the councilors. […]
