EEE Found In Bird-Biting Mosquitoes In West Monroe

Dr. Dennis Norfleet, Public Health Director of the Oswego County Health Department, said this morning (July 13), that the Eastern equine encephalitis virus was found in a pool of mosquitoes collected on Toad Harbor Road in West Monroe. The virus has only been found in the type of mosquitoes that bite birds, not in mosquitoes that feed on humans.

West Baptist Church Craft Sale Set

The West Baptist Church will be holding a craft sale Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Come browse the various items, get a tour of the church’s historic Sanctuary and grab a bite to eat at the Organ Grinder’s Café.

Part Of West Fifth To Be Closed

TRAFFIC ALERT:  Beginning as early as Monday, Sept. 15, the one-block section of West Fifth Street from Varick Street to Tallman Street will be closed to all traffic, each day from about 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. for necessary construction work.
