Three charged in thefts from Northern Motor Sports in Fulton

FULTON, NY – An eight-month-long investigation by the New York State Police in Fulton resulted in the arrest of three Onondaga County subjects for the thefts of an ATV and two motorcycles from Northern Motorsports in Volney.

Brandon C. Hughes, 5/29/85, 333 Stafford Ave., Syracuse, was arrested on 6/12/11 for Grand Larceny 3rd (D Felony), Attempted Grand Larceny 3rd (E Felony), and Possession of Burglar’s Tools (A Misd).

Joseph A. Douglas, 02/21/83, 307 1/2 Chesnut St., North Syracuse, was arrested on 12/20/11 and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd (D Felony).

Charles R. Bliss Jr., 02/23/71, 9486 Blaze Path, Brewerton, NY, was arrested on 02/09/12 and charged with Grand Larceny 3rd and Attempted Grand Larceny 3rd.

Bliss is currently being held without bail in the Oswego County Jail.
Troopers in Fulton interupted a larceny in progress at Northern Motor Sports during the early morning hours of 06/12/11, which initially led to the arrest of Hughes.

Hughes and Bliss allegedly broke through a secure area at Northern while the business was closed, and removed an ATV and two off-road motorcycles during multiple trips to the business.

The subsequent investigation resulted in the recovery of thousands of dollars worth of stolen property from area businesses in Oswego and Onondaga counties.

A vehicle registered to Bliss, identified as a 3/4 ton, 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, black in color, was utilized in the larceny from Northern.
