Tops Markets, Local Community Celebrates Grand Re-openings Of Stores


WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. –Tops Friendly Markets, a leading full-service grocery retailer in upstate New York, northern Pennsylvania and northern Vermont celebrated recently with the local community the official grand-re-openings under the Tops banner of three former Big M stores located in Adams, Sandy Creek and Mexico.

Tops’ Adams store located at 10916 U.S. 11, and Sandy Creek store located at 6103 N. Main Street were part of an acquisition of Big M supermarkets in the CNY area completed in May 2013.

Tops’ store in Mexico, located at 3385 Main St., was part of an acquisition completed in March of this year.

“These stores are a natural addition to our current footprint and the teams at these stores have worked very hard to ensure that our shoppers have a positive shopping experience that focuses on variety, freshness, convenience and exceptional value,” said Frank Curci, Tops’ president and CEO. “And we will also continue to be active members of the local community.”

In addition to enjoying a wider variety and selection of national and corporate brand products, among the changes at these stores include new signage, store fronts and interior décor.  The stores also boast upgraded produce, bakery, deli, meat and seafood departments along with expended dairy and frozen food sections.

Grand re-opening ceremonies featured the participation of community leaders and Tops leadership as well as donations made on behalf of Tops to various local charities through the company’s “Living Here. Giving Here” community partnership program.
